Evy (7½) loves all things red and pink, including her new Barbie-pink hair. She gushed about our stickers, toys, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate milk. And we have to gush right back. Her class at Swan School has created neighborhood food pantries, with a goal of 11 locations because “everyone should have food in their belly.” We couldn’t agree more.

Regina and Warren (5) came to the store after he found a golden Easter egg with money tucked inside. Warren picked out his treats and saved the rest for his next visit. The family loves daily walks to the store. Warren, we hope you had a blast at your first T-ball game. |

These are our incredible pickup and delivery volunteers. Clockwise from the upper left: Mike, Sally, Mark, Toni, Linda, Amanda, Jim, and Jon. This crew keeps us stocked with the freshest pastries and bread from Pane d’Amore, the yummiest breakfast wraps from It’s a Wrap, and pasture-raised eggs from One Straw Ranch. They also love getting to know the local suppliers who want to be part of our store and cheer us on. We simply couldn’t offer the bounty we do without this dedicated group of volunteers. For every parking lot, local farm, ferry and bakery pickup, thank you.

Donald and Tyler cycled from Kingston to Fort Flagler and back, starting out on frost-covered roads. This duo did the same ride in January and called our store a perfect stopping point. Apparently, someone was dreaming of Cearra’s cowboy cookies for the last five miles before rolling in. Good luck on your Reno to Eugene ride. |

Mike, Sue, Cathy, and David gathered round to enjoy our fresh Crusty Crumb sandwiches. David noted the nice balance of healthy and indulgent choices throughout our aisles and coolers. Fun fact: Sue and David’s son, Kyler, was selected to create the 2026 Wooden Boat Festival poster. We think it’s something special.

Willow (7) and Rowan (10) are putting our new super-soft stuffies to the test. Goats, lambs, foxes, otters, llamas, rabbits, bears, puppies, and seals. A whole crew ready for snuggles and backseat adventures. |

Seth and Monica visited from Sequim and Port Angeles. Seth shared fond memories of the store and swimming in Mystery Bay from when his grandparents lived on the island. They lingered over local honey, cheese, and gifts, and appreciated the open layout and space to gather. High praise from an architect and a local journalist. |

Thank you, Barbara, for spending time with us discussing your book The Reindeer of Chinese Gardens, a locally set novel we were especially glad to share with our community. It was clear there are devoted fans of your historical fiction in the audience. We’d love to see Marrowstone Island make a cameo in your next story. |

The Marrowstone Show was a heartfelt success. Thank you, MICA, for organizing the event and giving so many islanders a stage. If there was one quintessential Marrowstone moment, it might have been when Jessie asked the audience for bird calls to calm her nerves while tuning her guitar. And of course, the audience filled the room with chirps and trills.
