Community L*O*V*E on such a lovely day!
Over 170 friends, family members and neighbors gathered to celebrate our One Year Anniversary operating as a community co-op.
From 102 years old to 4 weeks old, people connected on a bluebird Saturday to recognize what can be achieved when a community comes together for the common good.
The Islanders String Band played their way into our hearts on Saturday.
This ensemble provided a pitch perfect soundtrack to our anniversary gathering and we loved every note!
Anniversary celebration co-chairs Lee (pictured left) and Barcy and committee members Susan, Carol, Linda and Rebecca threw a perfect party.
Thank you for the many hours of planning, set up and clean up. Amazing teamwork!
Over 30 tractors paraded past the Nordland General Store during this year’s Tractor Days.
This was the 25th Tractor Days orchestrated by Sue and Tom. We are grateful for the annual reminder of the important role agriculture has played in the history of our island.
Lauren and Arthur drove the first JUST MARRIED tractor in the history of Tractor Days.
These Marrowstone islanders were married on May 5 at Fort Townsend State Park. We hear a honeymoon to Bali or Baja is being planned by these lovebirds. We wish these soulmates every happiness!
The Tractor Days parade was followed by the Tractor Days Triathlon.
Participants completed a 3/4 mile run from the Nordland General Store to Mystery Bay State Park, a return kayak/SUP/canoe journey back to store followed by a 3.5 mile bike ride around the island. Such amazing energy!
Dave and Rob have been friends since the mid 80s when they met working in Alaska.
Residents of Seattle and Bainbridge Island, they love to hike year-round on Marrowstone and appreciate our treat selection for après-hiking. These friends came for our anniversary party and stayed for the porch after party!
Karen has been an island resident since 2007.
She enjoys the idyllic feel of our quirky community and supports our store by buying gifts, staples and lots of ice cream! We appreciate the flair Karen adds to our community and the many contributions she makes as a local educator.
