Our glorious summer has arrived!
Remember Conner from last summer?
He’s now 9 and remains our favorite corn model (he devoured this cob raw). He’s excited to go salmon and lingcod fishing with dad and grandpa this summer. Next summer Conner will be allowed to kayak or canoe across Mystery Bay to the store for ice cream and corn. He’s growing up so fast!
Bill and Jim are part-time island residents and full-time store supporters.
They come for books, wine, organic produce and chats with our staff. We love when they bring out-of-town guests to visit us. We adore these two, but be careful if they invite you to a “friendly” game of croquet or pickleball!
Angela and Ian brought Isla (3) and Remy (5) to the store during a Fort Flagler camping adventure.
These sweet Seattleites love beach treasure and came to Marrowstone with a metal detector and well-honed beach glass hunting skills. We’ve heard this family also makes impressive sand castles!
Sisters Eliza and Jordana have many Marrowstone memories.
Grandpa had an island farm and these two city slickers recalled doing lots of farm chores while Grandpa caught up with his buddies. The original store was a family favorite for last minute meals, penny candy and ice cream. These siblings were overjoyed to sit on our porch once again and reminisce while wearing their new store merch.
Your Nordland General Store has you covered!
Want your drink to stay cold? Need ideas for paddling and hiking? Hoping for protection from the sun? Craving local summer treats?
Alex and Rachel rode from Seattle to Fort Flagler in a day (with an assist from the Bainbridge ferry).
These bike campers said trip highlights were picking salmonberries and visiting our store for the first time. They made several store stops for ice cream, beer and lunch. Why ride with all the weight when we have everything you need?!
No one does summer as well as sisters Debbie and Tina.
These closely connected sibs are equally matched bursts of energy and sunshine. They are passionate store ambassadors who rave about our local products and friendly staff. The love goes both ways friends!
Patrick, Kayla, Pete and Tara moored their new Ranger Tug at Mystery Bay last week.
Earlier this year, Pete and Tara chose Port Townsend and Marrowstone for their inaugural boating destination. They arrived at our store hungry after that first voyage and said we saved them with charcuterie, cookies, beer and cider. These quick learners are now timing the tides for Mystery Bay store runs. So happy to be part of your boat life!
Meet Adam, Scooby Doo and Emily.
We snapped a sun-in-your eyes photo (sorry!) to capture this charming trio on the front porch. These Seattleites camped at Fort Flagler, swam in Mystery Bay and have now decided to make Marrowstone an annual tradition. They marveled at our store’s home town feel, fresh produce and local artwork.
Zach (6) says there is no better summer feeling than arriving to the store by boat at 7:55 pm.
Five minutes to spare for that after dinner ice cream treat! We like your style little guy.
