Rain or Shine, Come Cozy Up at the Store!
Hi Friends,
Cozy season has officially arrived! Time to pull on your favorite flannel, pour something warm, and watch those rainbows appear between the raindrops. We’re loving the return of the green, but don’t let a little rain keep you from popping in to say hello!
We’ve got everything you need to make us your One Stop Shop without leaving the island: fresh organic produce, pantry staples, local dairy and more. If there’s something you want and don’t see, tell us! This store is yours, and we want it to work for you.
Rain or shine, we can’t wait to see your faces.
—Your Nordland General Store Family
Big thanks to Aegea for pulling together our island Trick-or-Treat night!

Thanks to all who are keeping our island spirit alive!
Molly, an apprentice at Mystery Bay Farm, has been pondering the winter slowdown in goat milk production.
Her clever solution? Partner with Dungeness Valley Creamery to craft a Mystery Bay Farm Fromage Blanc made with rich, local milk.
Come meet Molly at our store this Sunday, November 2 at noon to taste this new cheese and learn more about the art of cheesemaking!
Join us Saturday, November 8, for a conversation with local author Kelli Estes, author of The Girl Who Wrote in Silk.
This historical novel, inspired by true events, is available at our store. The Jefferson County Library in Hadlock also offers a book club kit. We can’t wait to welcome Kelli, hear about her inspiration and learn more about her writing process. We promise no spoilers for those who haven’t read the book!
Meet Port Townsend cyclists Jani, Bonnie, and Shannon.
Bonnie has been making the 34-mile journey to Marrowstone for more than three decades. She told us the Nordland General Store was always the highlight of her ride, especially the apple streusel and coffee enjoyed by the old wood stove. The stove may be gone, and Bonnie may have upgraded to an e-bike, but she said our reopened store is just as lovely and wonderfully reminiscent of the original.
This adventurous trio described their visit as a “reconnaissance mission” to check out the new store, and from the smiles and stories they shared, we think it’s safe to say they’ll be back often.
Thank you for riding over, shopping local, and keeping this sweet tradition alive!
Cousins Adele, Mia, Everett, and Titus paused just long enough on our front porch for this great photo.
Mia and Everett were visiting from Colorado over their fall break, and the cousins made the most of their time together playing pickleball, card games, and, of course, visiting our store.
These clever teens quickly discovered our ice cream, organic produce and snack treats. We’ll see if their smarts extend to the pumpkin weight and waist guessing contest. Good luck, team!
Thank you to the Seattle Times for this wonderful column in last Sunday’s paper.
